Scotty 1170 Power Grip Plus with cannonball snap and heavy 18" monofilament leader is the critical link between the downrigger and the fishing rod with a streamlined design that won't snag on weeds or foul lines. It grips fishing line between the soft pads to attain variable release tension by moving the line in or out of the jaws. The tension adjuster can double the holding power if necessary.
